Our Women's Hygiene and Self-Care Program has
BLOOMED into a more rewarding project than we could ever have dreamed.
In 2018 we saw a need for women's self care and hygiene kits in Asia. To help mend that gap, we supplied kits and taught hygiene and self-care techniques. Many women were raised to think that femininity is a burden and woman's life has little value. We encourage women and young girls to educate themselves to find self worth through self care and cleanliness.
Our goal for the Women's Health and Self-Care Program is to show the women and girls how to care for themselves physically and to overcome the social stigma that the female gender is a curse. Launched September 2018.
Donate To Our Cause
A Bloom Mission Trip is an incredible opportunity to serve amongst the unreached people in the 10/40 window (the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Approximately between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator). Every short-term mission team experience frontline cross-cultural ministry and makes a positive and significant impact to the women and children we serve during our mission work.
In Asia teaching about hygiene looks different.
We Teach:
- Urinary tract and yeast infections prevention.
- The basic anatomy of the female body, using pictures and displays.
- How to track their monthly cycle using Menstrual Bracelets and how to lessen the symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).
For New Mothers:
- Proper breastfeeding and postpartum care.
- For those nearing the end of their childbearing years: the basics of menopause, what to expect, and how to help make a healthy transition.
