John Vanderhoofven

Board Member - Director of Strategy and Organizational Development 

John serves as a volunteer Board Member for Bloom International, where he helps strengthen the organization's mission, people, and operations to expand its global impact. Passionate about personal freedom and dignity, John is dedicated to helping others discover and develop their God-given gifts while finding meaningful ways to serve their communities.

Professionally, John is a Software Engineer specializing in data analytics with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. With more than seven years of experience in software engineering, he brings expertise in technical design, architectural analysis, project management, and strategic problem-solving to Bloom's leadership team.

Before transitioning into software engineering, John served in a variety of roles, including accounting clerk, restaurant manager, undergraduate teaching assistant, campus minister, and pastor. His diverse background in ministry and leadership provides a unique perspective as he helps guide Bloom International's growth.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries from Central Bible University (formerly Central Christian College of the Bible).

John joined Bloom International because of his passion for helping people discover opportunities to serve and make a lasting difference. He and his wife, Abigaile, have been married for 26 years. In his free time, he enjoys playing keyboard at his church and spending quality time with his family.
